Pioneer corn bread by the Oldtimers

2 cups white Stone Ground Corn Meal 4 T. flour 1tsp salt 1 T. baking powder 1 tsp soda 2 cups butter milk 4 eggs--room temperature 1/4 cup oil Preheat the 12" dutch oven mix liquid ingredients in a bowl mix the dry ingredients in a bowl heat 1/4 oil in dutch oven. Swirl to coat up the sides. mix the wet and dry ingredients together stirring till smooth. Pour the hot oil into the corn bread mixture and stir. Pour cornbread into hot oven and cook for 10 minutes at 450º(20 top coals and 12 on bottom.) Remove from bottom heat and cook until a knife center test comes clean and top is golden brown.
