| 2 cups self rising flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/3 cup butter
1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
3 or 4 green onions finely chopped
3/4 cup buttermilk
Cut the butter into flour with pastry blender, stir in onions and cheese. add milk and stir in the dry ingredients until all is moist. turn out onto a floured surface, knead 5 or 6 times. roll dough to a 1/2 inch thickness. cut with a biscuit cutter and put in a preheated 10" Dutch oven.Bake at 400º(17 topcoals and 8 bottom) for 15 minutes or until lightly brown. |
