new iron for xmas?

Well now that ole Saint Nick  has come and gone life can slow down a little.  Did he bring you any new Cast Iron?  I must have been really good because I got a 10" Spyder!  I kept telling my wife that I had been really good and I guess she believed me(Brain-washing helps sometimes!).  So I was just wondering if any of you got someone to believe that you have been good and got some iron for Xmas.

Doug

Re: new iron for xmas?
I wished  ole Saint Nick had loved me enough to bring a 10" spyder.  There was 2 Campchief 10" DO's and a toy ole wood cook stove in cast iron under the tree.  I have ask anyone and everyone who loves me to be on the lookout for spyders for next year or any old cast iron. I hope everyones Christmas was a good one.

Re: new iron for xmas?
My younger daughter got me an iron dinner bell, a lid lifter, AND a tri-pod! Never worked with one of those before, should be interesting. Guess I'll start with beans. Anybody got any pointers?

Be sure and keep gloves handy and use them when checking beans so you don't lose them!!!! Awful gritty trying to eat them off the ground.  Haha!!

Re: new iron for xmas?

So glad you got your spyder!  Where did your wife find this for you?

Next to the Christmas tree for me was a particle board crate.  It was about 40 inches square and about 2 inches thick.  Of course I couldn't open it by myself, so hubby had to help.  Considering he made it, he had a really tough time getting all the screws and nails out.  Inside was a cooking table he had made for me.  1/4 inch plate about 32 x 16 and 18 inches high.  I have been cooking on a half barrel for years.  I am now on my third barrel.  The new table has a cut out hand hold for carrying it.  The legs screw on.  He also put a 3/8 inch rod around the edge to help hold the coals on the table.  I am looking forward to trying it out.

I also gifted myself with a Lodge Lewis and Clark DO and a Camp Chef Lewis and Clark beanpot.  Hubby says he has a hard time buying anything for me because if I want it, I will just buy it for myself.
