Pictures to Share

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v513/FishinBC/White%20Buffalo%20Roundup/?start=all

Morning all!  Thought you might get a kick out of these.  I belong to a women's fly fishing group called Sisters on the Fly  (sistersonthefly.com).  I recently hosted a group of 72 gals and 45 trailers at the White Buffalo Resort in Mtn Home.  I got in touch with Phyllis Speer and she was wonderful about acccepting our invitation to come and give the sisters a DO basic class.  Many of the gals had never cooked in a DO before.  After Phyllis' presentation many of them ran up to town, buying up DO's in the antique stores.  That evening we had a gathering and a great time!

Re: Pictures to Share

looks like a lot of fun . I noticed in the pictures that most of the campers were small and well perserved .  Is there a reason for this?

Also Phyllis is a hoot to cook with.  She helped my group, The Redneck Gourmets, a couple of years ago  cook for the same fundraiser that we did this past weekend.  She showed up with a new MACA 22" dutch oven.  Of course she could not even lift the lid.  We had to assign her a "Boy Toy" just to open the lid for her....she really did not mind that!LOL!

Re: Pictures to Share

Our little group of over 1000+ Sisters on the Fly pull vintage trailers to events all over the country.  We decorate our bedrooms on wheels and enjoy camping and fishing.  It's a blast.

Phyllis is a hoot, I adore her!  The gals got the biggest kick out of her.  I can imagine she would love a "Boy Toy" for help.  What a wonderful lady she is!!

Musings

Cheri,  I thoroughly enjoyed your pictures.  On several occasions over the last few years we have camped at Bar 50 Ranch near Bismark to trail ride.  On two separate occasions a group that looked very similar to yours was camped there.  I do not remember these gals having the same name as your group, but a couple of the rigs looked familiar.  The red and white one pulled by the vintage pick-up was very familiar.  Could some of these gals be the same?  Do you know of this group?

Phyllis Speer and John Philpot were the judges at the one and only DO cook-off I have entered.  She is really a very nice person.  She also cooked some bread at this event herself.  Maybe some of the other members of this group participated in that cook-off.  It was the Old Cowboy Rendezvous held near Dover.  I can't remember the year, but I still have the T-shirt.

I think I am sick.  I said I would never enter another cook-off.  This website business has made me want to enter another one.  I talked to my friends about it last night and they had been thinking about doing it too, so you might see us somewhere sometime.

Re: Musings

Yes Janis that was us!  Camped at Bar 50 Oct of last year and I think they did it two years before that.  I loved Bar 50.  Great place and nice people.  Have you ever been to the Stone Creek Ranch in Mtn Home?  They are awesome and the horses don't follow nose to tail.  You can ride where you want.  Check it out some time.
