This past weekend, the Redneck Gourmets helped out one of our members , Keith de Noble, put on something we have come to call, Dino-Fest. Keith invites a large number of friends over for an evening of food, drink, and fellowship.  this year we had about 65 for supper.  We cooked all of our meat in a firepit in the ground and did desserts in the Dutch ovens.  We cooked brisket, rump roast, Boston butts,  and Lamb for the meats.  Desserts ranged from the exotic Bird of Paradise Cake to the plain Peach dump cobbler.

As always the most common comment was , "you cooked that in a Dutch oven?"

It seems that people just have a hard time believeing you can cook anything you want in a Black pot.  Anyway I had some pictures of some of the desserts posted but I got some labels mixed up.  The carrot cake and the Bird of Paradise cakes are reversed.
