If anyone is down close to Rison this weekend (3-28) come by Pioneer Village and give me a Howdy Shout.  This will be the 4th year that I have cooked there and we have always had a great time there.  This is a really laid back cookoff.  This year they are having a novice divison for the first time so that newcomers can cook and not have to compet against people who have been doing it for a long time.  I think this is a great ideal and wish others will include it in their cookoffs.  It might help us "grow " the black pot cooking as a sport.  Even if you don't want to compete , come by and visit.  Just look for the "Rednecks"......some might say just listen and you willl find us.
