Rison for years had a cook-off with their Pioneer Days but this year canceled that whole fest. They are starting a new event called'The First annual Ark Bluegrass and Crafts Weekend'. For those of you that have cooked at Rison before, the cook off will be run the same as it always had. It will be a 3 potcooking, bread, dessert, and main dish. The Bread does not have to be a yeast bread. All dishes are turned in at the same time, and they want the combonation of your three dishes to compliment each other. For more info the contact person is Arnette Guyer PO Box 273 Rison , ARK 71665/ phone # 870-866-5422.

Mammoth springs cook off

The weather was great and the food was also. They had 4 teams in their first year and a full class in their Intro to Dutch ovens class. Alot of fun for all. I hope to get from pictures posted one day this week. Our cooking friend Cuzin Dean(Harold Lungsford) passed away this past weekend. Many of you had met and cooked with him and know He will be missed. He was always quick to help and always willing to pass one of his many recipes out. He had a stroke a while back and just was not able to recover. Please keep his family in your prayers. Anyone who wishes to send a card can send it to his sister.
