Keep Those Ovens Hot!

Thank you for stopping by the Arkansas Dutch Oven Society website.  The Arkansas Dutch Oven Society charter states that our purpose is to further the knowledge and heritage of Dutch oven cooking.  We do this by Dutch Oven Gatherings (DOGS), historic reenactments, and demonstrations.  We encourage you to join our group and take part in our activities and forum discussions.  It is our goal to promote the art of Dutch oven cooking in Arkansas and beyond.  If you know of any events in which Dutch oven cooking is featured, please let us know so that we can post it to the site and help get the word out about it.  It does not have to be a "cook-off", just anything connected with the "black pots."  Arkansas Dutch Oven Society has members all across the state of Arkansas and many of the surrounding states that are always looking for a DOG (Dutch Oven Gathering).

Doug at 2013 NDOG.jpg

Wow.... That's the best way to describe the 2013 National DOG..  Folks, Eric McAlister and the Central Arkansas Dutch Oven Society did Arkansas proud!  Nothing but kudos for the effort that they did for Arkansas.  What a gathering of Black pots...each night at the potluck supper there were over 175 pots on the table!
One great idea was the "Adopt a Black Pot Chef" program where the public for a small fee could obtain 1 on 1 Dutch oven 101 instruction.  They also got to keep a 12" Dutch oven that was included....What a deal!
OK folks , the weather has become perfect for getting your pots out and cooking in them.  Get out and share your pots with your friends, and believe me it is easy to make new friends when you show up with a Dutch oven full of food.  And please take pictures of your dish and send it to us ,  we would love to update our picture section with new ones.

Keep checking on this site for anything Black Pot.
Keep your coals hot!!!
